Time to say goodbye

I worked from home today and had the Michael Jackson service on in the background. I thought it was beautiful and done quite tastefully. There were a few touching moments, but the one that tugged at my heartstrings the most was at the end when Michael’s daughter, Paris spoke. She broke down while trying to speak and it was painful to watch the sadness that she feels now that she has lost her father. What a brave young lady and I wish the entire family peace in this time of mourning.

Michael – you left us too soon. We will never forget your impact on our lives, the music or the memories you left behind. Rest in peace.

I think it was one of those events that we will all remember for the rest of our lives. Ill remember where I was when I heard he died, and where I was when I watched this.

It was touching.

And it appears to me that her Aunt Janet may be one of the few women in the family to have any sense! Surely not LaToya. His daughter broke my heart. Easy to forget he was a dad.

I missed the memorial service on tv as I was babysitting all day but I am glad to hear it was done nicely. It is one of those things that could have gone the other way. How hard it must have been for her to speak! What a brave little girl!

I watched it streaming live at work. It was so sad when his little girl spoke at the end, but I thought it was tastefully done too. What a nice service to honor him...

It was amazing to watch. I also thought Brooke Shields was truly touching.

I didn't watch it, but when I saw the clip of Paris on the news I cried my eyes out.

I agree, I thought this was done very tastefully. It could have been a big circus but they kept it nice.

I didn't get to watch the service but I hope to be able to find it online so I can. I did see Paris on the news last night and from the little bit they showed I was already crying. It is hard to lose a parent and for those kids he's all they've ever known. I did hear a little bit of John Mayer's version of Human Nature and I thought that it was fabulous. I still can't believe he's gone but I hope now the media will let him rest in peace. XOXO

MJ's death is really sad and I feel awful for his children. I couldn't believe his daughter spoke at her dad's funeral. She is a very strong little girl. It must be really hard for his family that the media has generated this much publicity about everything.

I was teary all day, for the first time since he died. I think it finally hit me. His music always reminds me of my youth!

I really want one of those shirts they were selling on the street.
