Weekend recap

Friday, Geof and I stayed in and took it easy. He made us steak and twice baked potatoes for dinner and it was delicious. Nothing says loving like Omaha Steaks! I caught up on the Real Housewives and I have to say that I cannot believe the way these women fight and name call one another. It’s like high school all over again. I loved seeing Vicki take her mother and daughter to Italy though. I would love to go there one day. I can almost taste the homemade pasta and Italian wine.

Saturday, Geof and I went to the mall before skating and I got some Yankee Candles for the holidays. They were having an open house and I had a coupon, so I couldn’t resist. I bought Christmas Cupcake, Red Apple Wreath and received a small jar of Nutcracker for free. We went to a few other stores and I got some things from Bath & Body Works and New York & Company. After the mall, we went to Subway for lunch and then off to the rink to teach at skating.

Saturday night, our friends Kristen and Sean went to a wedding close to us and we decided to meet up afterwards at a local bar/restaurant in Media called Quotations. They brought another couple along, Erica and Brian and we all had a nice time. I was drinking chardonnay and my glass fell from the table to the floor and shattered into what seemed like a thousand pieces. It made the loudest sound and the whole bar went, “oooooooooh”. It was embarrassing, but then I ended up laughing about it and taking a bow. The “ooohs” turned to clapping, but I was still mortified.

Kristen and me. She's all glammed up from the wedding!

Sunday, Geof and I went major food shopping. We filled up 2 carts of groceries and I really hope that we don’t have to again for awhile. Once we got home and got the food put away, I started cooking. I made Mrs EyesCanSee Turkey Chili recipe for a potluck at the office and Melissa’s Chicken and Dumplings recipe for dinner. Both were delicious. Geof and I watched some football and Desperate Housewives and called it a night.

Mmmm! Steak and twice baked potatoes are some of my favorites!

I watched Real Housewives as well! Sadly, I thought Vikki and her mother acted like "ugly American" tourists. Can you imagine going to the Colliseum and saying you were not impressed!

I hope you have a good week friend!

yum!! Sounds good!!!

I agree with the RHOC! I couldn't believe how Tamra is now! I used to love her but now she's just getting ridiculously catty and immature! Vicky is still my fav! Glad Jeanna is gone and starting to love Gretchen! Slade? Not so much. lol

Glad you had a great weekend!!! :)

I agree about RHOC! It used to be about the families, now it's what fight can we get into next?! Though Vicki and her fam were horrible tourists in Italy.

Your wine glass story totally sounds like something that happens to me ALL the time.

Thank you so much for your comments! I, too, enjoy reading your blog and falling your precious family.

I can't even wait to try the chicken and dumplings recipe you have posted. It sounds divine, my husband will be thanking you!

Looks like you had a fabulous weekend of shopping and fellowship! I am a HUGE NY&C fan, as well. I am in need of some Christmas candles, you have just influenced me to get out and buy some!

Have a great week!

OMG I am so excited that someone made a recipe that I posted! Glad you liked the dumplings, they're one of my fav dishes! :)

The Real Housewives act like middle schoolers! It's painful for me to watch the OC ladies, but I do it anyway! I cannot imagine hanging out with women like that! Tamra is sooo jealous of Gretchen and I hate the way she acts now, and she was one of my favs her first season!

My fav holiday Yankee Candle scent is gingerbread! I need to buy some soon! :)

Glad you had a great weekend! :D

I love the housewives but that Tamara and Vicki make me nuts. I couldn't be around them for more than 2 seconds.

Bless your heart about dropping the drink!!! I spill ALL the time ... which includes much breakage. Growing up, my dad always told me, "You look pretty in everything you eat (and drink." And that statement still applies today!!! Cheers! Xoxo-BLC
