Birthday Wish List & Happy Birthday Hubby

My birthday is coming up on July 12th and I made a fun Polyvore of all the things on my wish list. I had to share!

Birthday 2010 Wish ListFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Lilly Murfee Scarf in Aquamarine Catch Of The Day, Fornash Pearl Starfish Bracelet, Longchamp Le Pliage Tote, American Eagle Turquoise Cocktail Ring, Franco Sarto Sunglasses (b/c mine broke), Lady Gaga tickets, Chanel Gloosimer in Seashell, Hungry Girl Happy Hour Cookbook, Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings, Whitney Caroline Market Tote, Sephora Gift Card

In reality I don't expect to even get half of these things, it's just fun to make a list!

I also wanted to wish a very Happy Birthday to my husband, Geof! You are the love of my life and I’m so happy you’re all mine. You make me smile and laugh everyday and you’re always there to support me no matter what. Times might not always be easy, but we have each other and find a way to make it through. You’re my rock and I love you with all my heart. I can’t wait to celebrate this weekend!

Weekend recap

Friday I took the day off, Geof came home from work early and we spent the afternoon at the pool. We had major storms on Thursday (so bad that my sunroof completely cracked from the hail) and it was nice to see the sun on Friday. After the pool, I had my car towed to a collision shop because I was afraid the whole thing was going to cave in and injure me. There was no way I was taking that chance.

Friday night my mom and I finally went to see Sex and the City 2. I have to say that I absolutely loved it, probably more so than the first. The best part in my opinion was the fact that the movie focused more on the ladies and their time together. The fashion was also out of this world.

Saturday, Geof and I ran some errands and finally went to the pool for the later part of the afternoon. The water felt so good and we spent hours splashing around. After the pool, we made a quick stop at the grocery store, came home and Geof made us tacos for dinner.

Sunday, we went to a Phillies game where they beat the Blue Jays 11-2. We got amazing seats along the first base line as a joint early birthday gift from my mom’s boyfriend. The only downer was the hot weather. It was about 97 degrees and we felt like we were melting. I downed lots of water and tried to keep cool. We took a little break from the heat and went to McFadden’s in the ballpark for some appetizers and drinks. Overall, it was a great afternoon.

Ahhh...summer baseball!

Sunday night, we made dinner and watched True Blood. This past weekend was actually pretty great and didn’t fly by for once. I wish they were all like that!

Today I’m being featured at Just a Happy Housewife. Kathie was so kind to think of me. She was someone that I met through the blog world my first few months in and she is very nice and incredibly genuine. If you’re interested in learning more about me and why I got into blogging, head on over and check it out.

Happy Friday everyone!

Pink & Green Thursday

Please head over to Trish’s blog who is kind enough to host Pink & Green Thursday. Play along if you like!

I also wanted to apologize for being absent from the blog world all week. The 2nd job I’ve been working is really kicking my butt and hasn’t left me with a lot of spare time, especially during the week. A lot of my personal priorities are getting put on the backburner for the time being and that needs to change.

Okay enough of that, onto Pink & Green Thursday! This week I've decided to go with a travel and tote it theme. Since it’s officially summer, many of us are heading to the beach, going on vacation, visiting family, etc. I thought I would highlight some preppy finds for traveling in style.

Ame & Lulu has some of the cutest designs and this weekend duffel would be perfect for a few days away

These personalized bikini bags from Basement Bags are too adorable and are perfect for keeping everything else in your beach bag dry

I can attest for the fact that Scout bags are awesome. They’re so versatile and can be used for just about anything. I think that either of these Deano totes from Preppy in Paradise would make a great beach bag or all around summer tote.

What travel bag is complete without a preppy luggage tag? I ordered one of these myself from Preppy Paper Girl and they’re adorable.

Keep those toiletries separate from everything else in style with this A. Tierney toiletry bag. I’d add my monogram to it and make it extra special.

Last but not least is this darling market tote from Whitney Caroline Designs. I’d add a hot pink monogram and make it mine. This is actually on my birthday list this year. I think it would be great for toting snacks to the pool, bringing on a picnic to a local vineyard or for just keeping things organized in my car.

Weekend recap

Friday, I took the day off and Kristen came down. We spent the entire afternoon at the pool and it was glorious. The weather was perfect and the water was cool. We had such a great afternoon. Geof was coming home that night from a business trip and told me he was hungry so Kristen and I stopped and surprised him with pizza from Alfredo’s for dinner. Later, Kelly came over and the ladies and I got ready to head out to The Deck. We danced and chatted the night away.

Saturday, I had a Stella & Dot party and it turned out very nice. The hostess made some delicious appetizers and the ladies tried on and played with the jewelry that I brought to showcase. Once I got back home, I was tired, so Geof and I stayed in and relaxed.

It turned out a lot nicer than this when I set it up at her house. This was my mockup the day before.

Sunday, we went out to brunch for Father’s Day at Generation’s with my mom and her boyfriend. I called my dad when we got home and caught up with him. The rest of the day was spent with Geof and I actually took a long afternoon nap. We had spaghetti for dinner and watched True Blood. I’m so glad this show is back for the 3rd season.

Target Tuesday

I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile and time has gotten away from me. I went to Target a few weekends ago and got some really great things for summer that I wanted to share.

I got these Miss Trish for Target sandals and they are so comfortable and very cute. My favorite part is the pearl and starfish detail. These were also a great price. I also got the pearl stretch cocktail ring that I love. It definitely makes a statement and is very comfortable.

This sundress is so comfortable and they had many different patterns. I really liked the blue and ended up wearing this to the shower I went to on Sunday. I also paired it with the pretty pink cardigan in the photo. These Merona cardigans are so nice for the price and I love all of the color options they have.

This cute cooler bag was only $2.50 and keeps my diet soda nice and chilled at the pool. I couldn’t resist the Hello Kitty Band-Aids and I needed a spray bottle to use for cleaning my makeup brushes. The lady at the MAC counter recommended this and it’s a great idea.

Last, but not least was this romper that I got on clearance. It is so comfy and I plan on wearing this as a cover-up for the pool and beach.

Weekend recap

Friday, Colleen came over and we treated ourselves to pedicures at my nail place. I ended up getting a mani too and it was nice to be pampered for a little while. It had been way too long since the last time I went. We had the best time laughing and chatting the evening away. After the nail place, we met up with Geof and went to Alfredo’s for pizza. The 3 of us had a delicious dinner and then called it a night.

Essie Turquoise & Caicos from the Resort 2010 collection for my toes & OPI Fiji Weejee Fawn for my nails. I need to pick both of these shades up. They're really pretty.

Saturday, I convinced Geof to run to King of Prussia for the last day of the Lilly warehouse sale. I didn’t expect much, but I did get my hands on a cute tote and cosmetic bag that I wanted in the Not So Crabby print. In the fall I’ll definitely go on the first day. We left the sale, headed back home and stopped for breakfast at The Coffee Station. This place is so yummy. I had the best breakfast sandwich and one chocolate chip pancake. Geof got the same thing. It’s one of those little places that gets really crowded and is a town favorite.

Goodies from the Lilly sale

Once we got home, I had a lot of work to do and then I crashed for hours on the couch, which in turn made it so I couldn’t go to bed at a reasonable hour. My schedule has been really bad the past week and I think it all caught up with me this weekend, because I’ve been feeling completely exhausted.

Sunday, I went to Colleen’s and we headed off to our friend Deidre’s bridal shower. We met up with our Krystie and Melissa and had a really nice time. The shower was at a great restaurant and Deidre seemed legitimately surprised. The bridal party and family did a great job putting everything together. Once I got back from the shower, I did some cleaning around the house and settled in for the night.

Pink and Green Thursday

Time for another installment of Pink & Green Thursday hosted by Trish at Pink Preppy Lilly Lover. She is also hosting a fabulous Lilly giveaway right now. Please head over and enter!

My theme today is Pink & Green beach living. Now that summer has arrived, I’m dreaming of days spent by the ocean. I would give just about anything to have my very own cottage by the beach someday and have it decorated something like this. I saw these images last summer in Coastal Living and fell in love.

In the June issue of Better Homes & Gardens, I saw the beach cottage of author Mary Kay Andrews on Tybee Island in Georgia aptly named Breeze Inn Cottage. Her place is actually available for rental. I think I’d go to Tybee Island just to stay in this house.

Summer soundtrack

Every summer a new crop of music comes out and from then on whenever I hear the song, whether it be in the dead of winter or a few years later, it reminds me of that particular summer and all the fun memories to go along with it.

Here are some songs that I’m loving so far this summer:

OMG – Usher featuring Will.I.Am
Your Love is my Drug – Ke$ha
Alejandro – Lady GaGa
Airplanes – B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams
California Gurls – Katy Perry
Hey, Soul Sister – Train
All The Lovers – Kylie Minogue
Can’t Be Tamed – Miley Cyrus

I realize about half the songs on this list are most likely favorites of people half my age, but they’re catchy and I can’t help it!

What songs are you loving so far this summer? I’m always looking for new music to add to my playlist.

Weekend recap

Geof was away all week and into the weekend on a business trip to Minnesota. He was lucky enough to get to meet up with our friends from the cruise. Amanda and Jes were wonderful hostesses and showed him all around Minneapolis. I was there in spirit, but really bummed that I couldn’t make the trip.

Geof with Amanda and Jes...wish I was there

Friday, I went out with my good friend Kristen to Quotations in Media for what was deemed Brian’s “Trifecta Party”. It was to celebrate him graduating technical school, becoming an electrician and leaving his current job at a bank. We had a nice time and I had my first ever “Dirty Hoe” (it still sounds funny to me) that was a combination of Hoegaarden and Framboise (a sweet raspberry Lambic beer). It was really good. We left Quotations and headed to The Deck. The crowd was light since the Flyers were playing, but we ran into a few people that I knew and did some dancing.

This is what my frosty bev at Quotes looked like. Almost like a pink beer :)

Saturday was a pool day all the way. We woke up early, got some snacks and headed off to the pool. The weather was gorgeous. We laid out, took several dips in the water and chatted the day away. It was the perfect girly day. Saturday night my mom came over and we watched So You Think You Can Dance on the DVR and I ended up going to bed very early. The sun sure does wear a girl out!

Sunday I relaxed most of the morning and started watching Drop Dead Diva OnDemand. It’s a cute show and I can see myself watching more. Geof came home early in the afternoon and it was so good to see him. I missed him like crazy all week. We went to Pinocchio’s Pizza for dinner then came home and watched the Flyers game.

As a random side note, Geof got me a bottle of the Bret Michaels Diet Snapple Troparocka Tea and is so good!
