Midweek weekend

Geof and I took off on Wednesday and Thursday this week and I’m sorry that I’m just now getting back to blogging. I promise to get caught up with you this weekend! Here is what we have been up to.

Wednesday
Drove down to Harrisburg to see SafetySuit play an acoustic show at Harrisburg Area Community College. The show was special and different than any one that we had ever been to before. It was similar to watching a live episode of VH1 Storytellers being played out right in front of me. We got some background on certain songs and the meaning behind them as well as getting to hear two songs that they had never played acoustic before. They did some Q&A and it was a very intimate environment with a great crowd. Our friends from the cruise, Elizabeth and Josh met up with us at the show and I also bumped into Tracy and her friends that we met at another one of the SafetySuit shows.

After the concert, we headed to downtown Harrisburg with Elizabeth and Josh for Cinco de Mayo. We got to checkout some cool spots, like Hardwar Bar, which was very similar to Coyote Ugly, Molly Brannigans, great Irish bar with an interesting drink called “The Trashcan” and The Quarter, which had a New Orleans theme. We stopped for a late night slice of pizza at 2nd Street Pizza and it was delicious. The owner used to own a shop in NYC and it reminded me of that style. We went back to Elizabeth and Josh’s house and crashed there.

The Boys at Molly Brannigans...who knows what they're doing with the shirts I nabbed at Hardware

"The Trashcan" - for the record I did not order one of these

Thursday
We said our goodbyes, headed back home, got Panera for lunch and then got ready to head down to the University of Delaware for yet another SafetySuit show. It was outside on campus and a gorgeous day. Some of their fans from NJ and NY also came down for the show, so there were a lot of loyal fans in the crowd. The show started around 4pm and went on for about an hour. They did a meet and greet, we said a quick hello (since we just talked to them the night before) and wished them well recording their second album, since it will probably be awhile before we see them again. It was great, as always. Geof and I headed to Don Pablo’s for dinner and headed back home. I got this really weird sunburn that is kind of just of the one side of my face. I told Geof that I look like two-face.

I hope that everyone has been having a great week and Happy Friday!

Also, the straightener arrived the other day! Thanks again for that! I told my sister about it, and I am going home this weekend and bringing it, so I think we will try it out...I'll take some pics :)

I love the idea of a mid week weekend! This is a great new concept that we should all try out every now and then! ;-) The Cinco de Mayo pic of Geof with the margarita is CLASSIC!!! Ha ha ha! Glad you guys are having fun! Safety Suit should hire you as their PR rep! (Or at least give you free tickets!)

Hey cutie, I've been thinking about you, and were hoping you were up to something super fun! Wishing Matt was with me, but I am down in NOLA finishing up a little business but most importantly spending time with family. A little MIA from the blog world but for good reason!

Hoping you and Geof are well, just two weeks until we get to have our fun date night! xox Let's chat next week!!
