First, I want to sincerely thank everyone for their sweet comments on my last post. I was feeling pretty horrible and your words made me smile. It’s nice to know that people care. If I could reach out and give all of you hug, I would. I’ve been feeling like a pretty bad blog friend lately and hope to catch up with all of you this week.
Last week didn’t shape up to be much better than the weekend before. Between computer and car drama, it was a mess. I took off on Friday and Monday and used that time to unwind and unplug. I’m trying to be positive and know that something good has to be around the corner. Now, onto my recap…
Friday, Geof and I stayed in and relaxed. We watched Candyman and it was very different watching it as an adult as opposed to when I was a teen. It’s still creepy though.
Saturday, we had some errands to run and then went to try a new place for lunch called Basin Bistro. It was fabulous and we will definitely go back. It's a bit out of the way, but completely worth it. The service we received was excellent and the restaurant itself was warm and cozy. It's also BYOB, so that’s a plus!
Basin Bistro
After lunch we went to the movies to see Due Date. It was hysterical and I really enjoyed it. It’s funny how a simple comedy can lift your mood.
Sunday, my mom and I went to a craft fair at and then to Linvilla Orchards to walk around and visit the Farmers Market. It was nice to visit Linvilla in November since they’re in transition between fall and Christmas. We made a quick Target run and then my mom came over. I made tomato soup and grilled cheese for dinner while we caught up on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Pretty tree I spotted outside the craft fair
Linvilla still has pumpkins, but they're gearing up for Christmas too!
Monday, I stayed in and relaxed. I finally got to see the movie Valentine’s Day. I thought it was cute, but I’m glad I didn’t pay to see it in theater. It was nice how all of the stories tied together and kind of fun to see so many A-list celebrities in one film.

I'm glad you had a calmer weekend and got to relax!
I watched Candyman when I was a teen too, but haven't seen it since. It was creepy when I was younger and it would be interesting to see how I react to it now haha
I saw Due Date too, but I didn't like it. I'm not a fan of those movies where every possible thing goes wrong, and that's how this movie was. There were a few amusing scenes, but I thought it would be different than what it was.
I've been sending you prayers girl. Things will start to slow down soon. :) And a much needed 4 day weekend sounds fabulous!!! Glad you had a great weekend my friend (um...and what a gorgeous tree!!!)XOXO
I want to see The Due Date. Might have to wait til it comes out on DVD. Too many movies that I want to see, not enough time!
I enjoed Valentine's Day. It was cute romantic movie.

i really want to see due date! glad to hear you liked it!

Like I told you before, karma is coming you way girl. You work so hard and are such a wonderful person that it has to come back around in a good way for you :)
Just keep pusjing through and it'll happen! You deserve it, that's for sure.
I want to see Due Date really bad. Glad to hear it's good! And the restaurant you visited looks so cozy and homey. I like mom and pop shops like that.
Linvilla Orchards seems to be a pretty cool place. The tree photo is gorgeous. We still don't have any of that in LA. Although it's dipped down to the low 70s this week ;)
I hope this week is starting to look up for you!!
Valentine's Day was such a disappointment!!!
Hug back to you :)
What a relaxing weekend! And BYOB? I love it!
I am glad life is a little less crazy for you these days! Sometimes we all need time to recharge and relax!
It sounds like your weekend did just that for you. I cannot wait to see "Due Date"!
You poor thing...it's just been nonstop hasn't it? I'm glad you at least got a couple of days to unwind. I LOVE going to farmers markets and things like that. Hope this week is better for you!
