Easter weekend recap

Friday, my mom came over and made a chili dinner for the three of us. We stayed in and watched TV. It was a pretty quiet night. I also was able to start putting some outfits together for vacation.

Saturday, Geof and I headed down to Delaware. He did some shopping at Best Buy, while I was left to browse around Ulta (always dangerous). I picked up some nail polishes and a Smashbox shadow palette. We went to the movies to see Water for Elephants and I loved it. There were some things and characters in the book I was expecting to see in the movie that I didn’t, but all in all they did a nice job telling the story. Uncle Al was a character that was missing that I 100% expected to see.

After the movies, we went to Red Robin for dinner and then decided to go back to the movies to see Scream 4. I went in with low expectations and was glad I did. It wasn’t a great movie, but definitely better than the 2nd and 3rd ones. I don’t think you can ever top the original.

Sunday it was straight up hot out and we took the dogs for a long walk. They were beat. We came home, got ready, picked my mom up and headed over to my aunt and uncle’s house for Easter. It was nice, as always and so fun to see the kids go on a big egg hunt. These kids make out like bandits. Some of my cousins racked up $25+ and candy. I was lucky to find a $1 in an egg in my day (I sound so old right now). I also have a cousin that is like a little 4 year old princess. I think I carried her around for at least a half hour, but you have to love her. I also had some interesting conversations with my triplet cousins who are 13. Two of them are all about school while the other is completely boy crazy. Fun times!

I totally still get an easter basket! I wasn't sure what to expect this year, but my dad went all out and I probably have enough candy to last until next Easter!

I want to see Water for Elephants, but I'm usually disappointed with books turned movies....so we shall see. I go in with low expectations and hope for the best!

I agree about there being a lot from the book that I missed in the movie.. but I think it was a fabulous movie. I always get so worried that a movie won't even come close to a book but I think it was great. I can't wait to see it again :) Or read it again!! :)

I ruined Scream 4 because I read the ending online. haha. I really didn't want to see it, but I was curious who the killer could possibly be in this one.

Man, I was an unlucky kid, I never got money in my Easter loot!

I enjoyed Water For Elephants too! I definitely spent a lot of the movie comparing it to the book and thinking about what they left out/changed, but I think they did a good job overall.

I haven't read WfE, so I want to read it before seeing the movie!

I get a basket too, and the bunmy hides eggs around the house for me to find :)

I can not wait to see Water for Elephants. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get there. YAY for scoring at Ulta. I'm that way too. Brian can never leave me for long anywhere. I love your basket! I couldn't tell you the last time I got one but I will definitely be giving Ellie an Easter basket until I can't do it anymore. Have a great week!!! =)

I loved the book, so I was really skeptical that the movie could live up to my expectations.

It did! Sure, I missed a few things...but, as far as books-to-movies go, this one got an "A"!

Glad you had a good Easter! Sounds like a lot of fun surrounded by loved ones :)

I totally saw Scream 4 the night it came out. I am a Scream fanatic...all teen horror flicks actually...so I've been anxiously awaiting it's realease for about a year. I actually thought it was better than I expected. But you're right, nothing tops the first one :)
