Weekend recap

Friday, I worked pretty late and then Geof and I went to Nifty Fifty’s for dinner where we had the most obnoxious dining experience of our lives. Long story short, there were about 6 kids between the ages of 7-10 and they were screaming and being completely ridiculous. Their parents were at the booth behind them and said nothing. People near them requested to be moved and the whole restaurant was staring. We could not get out of there fast enough.

Saturday, I did some work in the morning and then we got ready to head to Glenside for the SafetySuit concert at Arcadia. A bunch of people we know from other shows came down from Boston, New York and New Jersey to see them. It was a little fan reunion of sorts and nice to catch up with everyone.

Geof & I with SafetySuit

SafetySuit sounded great, as always and their new single for the song “Get Around This” comes out tomorrow and I cannot wait. If you’re interested, here is a link to a clip of it. After the show, we chatted with the guys in the band, got some pics and took off. One of the things about SafetySuit that I love most is their stage presence. There’s never a dull moment and I’ve said it before and will say it again, you could not ask for more down to earth guys. It’s very easy to be a fan and root them on as they climb the ladder of success in the music world.

Acoustic version of "Get Around This"

Sunday I worked on and off most of the day and got some grocery shopping done. My mom came over for dinner (recipe to come tomorrow) and we watched Celebrity Apprentice.

Ugh, I hate when obnoxious kids ruin the restaurant experience (shopping, too!) I'm sure that even if the parents had said anything it wouldn't have done any good because kids won't even think of acting like that if they've been disciplined to begin with...

I'm so glad that a certain someone was fired from Celeb Apprentice!!! Finally! (didn't want to type out the name and possibly spoil it for anyone else who might glance at this)

I'm sorry about your dinner on Friday night. I hate when parents don't control their kids and allow them to disturb everyone else :(

Loud kids in restaurants is the worst thing. Well not that's not true. Oblivious parents is the worst thing. I promise you I would never let Ellie do that crap. LOL!

I am happy that the rest of your weekend was great! Maybe not the best start but ended fabulous!

XOXO

Yeah I don't get how parents go to public places and don't control their children. Had it been me and my parents, they would have grabbed our asses and marched us right out of there in a hot second lol!

So happy you had a blast at the SafteySuit show!! That's awesome you have a group of friedns that you know via the band's shows. I checked out the video - pretty amazing! Especially since it's accoustic. A lot of bands have great CDs then cannot perform live, not these guys. I can see why you love 'em!

Have a wonderful week, friend!

That is so cool that you've met so many fans. My brother is the same way with Umphrey's McGee. They travel the country together for all of the shows!

I hate restaurant experiences like that! Shame on those parents for not doing anything!! I had a lady recently with her kids all over TJ Maxx and two little girls sitting in front of the books just causing a scene - as Trey and I try to go look at the books she tells me that I can tell them to move. Um no, I'm not their mom.... sheesh.

Sounds like such a fun time going to see Safety Suit - I know how much you love them!!! :) Glad y'all had a good weekend!!
