Tonight I was sitting at home minding my own business. Before I tell you what happened, I’ll give you a small back story. Our next door neighbors son seems to think that our town home community is a car mechanic shop and has taken it upon himself for the past 3 weeks to work outside all hours to fix his friends car. There has been constant exhaust roaring, tools being tossed and loud noises being made. Geof and I have turned the other cheek to this, when we should have called and made a report weeks ago.
Onto the story; I was watching television and relaxing with the dogs when I heard a commotion outdoors. I looked out the window and to my horror saw the neighbor’s “car project” engulfed in flames and pushed out so that it was completely blocking Geof’s car and partially blocking mine. The concrete ground was even on fire from the oil. I dialed 911 and started panicking. Should I grab the dogs and whatever I can and run in case our house catches on fire? Should I try to at least get my car out of there? What do I do? I ran outside and the police were yelling for me to try and get my car out and I was shaking like a lunatic. My other neighbor guided me out and I was able to move it. I stood on my other neighbor’s deck and watched and waited for the fire department to get the hose going and put the flames out. They finally did and towed the car away.
Not the actual car, but this is what is looked like 5ft. from our cars. I kid you not.
I know that I should be happy that everything worked out and I truly am, but can’t help but be so upset by the lack of respect demonstrated by my neighbors. I really appreciate that they left the fireball of car in back of my house with our cars right there. Real nice. This is just another reason I cannot wait to own a single family home. I’ll be lucky if I sleep a wink tonight.
P.S. What is the matter with Kanye West? Honestly.
