Workout Wednesday

Inspired…or should I say thin-spired. That’s how I feel after watching the finale of last night’s Biggest Loser. If you’re a fan, then you know by now that Michael Ventrella was the winner. He lost a staggering 264 pounds, with a starting weight of 526 and then weighted in last night at 262. To say that he looks incredible would be an understatement. He has an energy about him and it was wonderful to see his transformation.

Michael before at 526 and after at 262

This got me thinking. I sit around and complain from time to time (okay, a lot) about how hard it is to lose weight, but then I see something like this and think that if he can lose the weight of an entire obese person, I can certainly get to where I want to be. I know I don’t have Bob and Jillian screaming at me and a Ranch that’s a workout playground at my disposal. It doesn’t matter though and it’s no excuse not to keep going.

As an update, this is week 19 for me and I am down a total of 19.4 pounds. That is slightly over a pound a week that I’ve been averaging. It’s not some astonishing number, but it’s what I have accomplished and I’m proud of it. I’ll update again in another 10 weeks.

19 pounds is a lot to be proud of. Hubby was getting down last night since he's still working out and not loosing anymore weight. The weight didn't show up overnight and it's not going to leave overnight. Slowly but surely it will be gone! Stick with it Jules! You are doing great!

That is an accomplishment and you should be very proud! It is hard! Especially when you don't have someone telling you what to eat, when to eat it, how much to eat, etc.

You are doing it all by yourself and you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work!

Slow and steady is the way to do it. When you loose weight too fast, it just comes right back.

I gained an absurd amount of weight this past year, as in I didn't know it was humanly possible to gain this much weight so quickly.

Keep it up! I'm right there with you!

A little over a pound a week is amazing. Don't you think Micahel had a crush on the last girl standing (blanking on her name - pink)

Congrats! That's ALOT to be proud of...and though 1 pound a week may seem pain-stakingly slow...it usually stays off!

Good for you, girlie! That's awesome. Stick with it, you're doing very well. Slow and steady is the best way to go. Every time I do a regular diet, I'm up one week, down the next, up a pound, down, up, etc. What I'm trying to say, is congrats on such a steady loss.

I don't watch that show, but I'm sure it's very inspirational. A friend of ours constantly begs me to audition, but I feel weird doing it :(

I just started this week doing Weight Watchers again. Lets hope I can stick with it!!! I always think its unfair to compare yourself to the people on the show b/c we DON'T have Jillian or Bob & we don't get to workout 24/7 - we have to work. AND, we don't have our food provided & planned for us. Maybe its just me though :P We can still find what works for us & hopefully lose the L'B's.
