Weekend recap

Friday, Geof and I went to Spice (one of our favorite restaurants) and had dinner. They serve Indian and Thai food, but we always go for Indian when we dine there. We hadn’t been there in awhile and I forgot what I was missing. It was so good. Geof had Matar Paneer with Chicken and I had Chicken Tikka Masala with Paneer. We also split some Garlic Naan. Everything was delicious.

After dinner, we headed over to the movies to catch the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. I went in with low expectations and because of that, I wasn’t completely disappointed. I’m a huge fan of the original and it used to terrify me as a kid. The remake might do the same for the younger audience and it made me jump a few times, but it didn’t even come close to being as good as the original. Overall, we had a really nice date night though.

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Saturday, Geof and I took the dogs, picked up Subway and headed over to my mom’s house for lunch. The dogs loved running around the yard and playing with her dog, Happy. The weather was gorgeous and we made it a nice afternoon.

Pretty Azaleas at my mom’s

Saturday night, our friend Jess and her husband Jay came over and we headed to Dave & Buster’s for dinner and games. The night started out fine and then got worse with bad service and cold food during dinner. We were sitting there for over 2 hours. The four of us were in such a foul mood once dinner was done, that we didn’t feel like playing games, so we just headed home. What a disappointment.

Sunday was the day that we were looking forward to all weekend because our friends Jessica and Amanda from the cruise were in town for two different concerts and they brought their friend John. We were able to meet up with them before their flight back to Minnesota later that evening. They came to our house for a bit and then we headed to Barnaby’s for lunch and drinks. It was a blast and I love these guys. I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire afternoon and we were really sad to see them go. It was great to have them here and I really hope to make it out there to see them next time. Amy and Chad are also on that list too. It is awesome the friendships and bonds that can be formed just by being away on vacation together.

Jessica, me, John and Amanda - please excuse the fact that we're in my basement

Love white azaleas. So rare around here. I'm used to seeing pink ones.
Sounds like a fun weekend aside from the D&B experience.

Looks like a fun weekend! I have been thinking lately about trying Thai food or Indian food. I have never had either. I'm such a picky eater! LOL

Sounds like a great weekend aside from the D&B issue. I wouldn't have wanted to play any games either or give them any more money and those games are pricey if I recall! Hope you're having a great Monogram Monday!

I love Dave & Buster's!

I hate bad service at a restaurant! It always makes me so mad!

I looove Indian food! We actually have the things at home to make mater paneer... hummm maybe I can get Tommy excited for it tonight. :)
There is nothing worse than bad service at a restaurant. :( Boo to D&B.
You know, I've never seen Nightmare on Elm Street? As a kid, I was not allowed to watch scary movies. And it probably was a good thing too since I have a very vivid imagination. I probably would have been terrified!
That's awesome your friends from the cruise stopped by for a visit! :) How fun!! I love it when friends come visit!
Hope you're having a great day!!!

That is so fun that you got to meet up with them! Some people you meet on vacations always say that they will...but, it never happens!

We saw Nightmare on Elm Street over the weekend too! Believe it or not, I've never seen any of the originals OR know the storyline, so I was pretty surprised. I jumped when that Kris girl was closing the window and that other guy jumped out!

I've read lukewarm reviews of Nightmare, but horror movies always get so-so or bad reviews.

I wish we had a Dave & Buster's around here, but we don't. That sucks about your bad service and cold food!

Otherwise, sounds like a great weekend!

Wow, you had a fun, jam-packed weekend! Love me some garlic naan! And that sucks about D&B's. Hopefully next time will be more fun, that's if you decide to go back! :)

That looks and sounds like such a great restaurant! Yummy! I used to be obsessed with scary movies as a teen. Haha I was (and still am ;) a sucker for movies like Scream, I know What You Did Last Summer, H2O, etc. Funny though--I am a sissy with violence...

I had a similar dinner experience on Saturday night as well! Horrible service, rude people, just a bad start to the night =(

Super cool that you have become friends with people from the cruise. You are so friendly I wouldn't imagine it any other way =)

Just the previews of that remake scare the crap outta me! The hubs and I have been talking about going and getting Indian food. We need to make a date!

This post made me crave Indian food! I haven't seen the new Nightmare on Elm Street but I feel the same way about the old one so I think I would be disappointed with the new one. The old one is such a classic and so scary!
