Fall fashion trends

Normally I’m not a follower when it comes to fashion and don’t hop right on the bandwagon for something that seems to be a fad. There are certain things that have been out the past few seasons that I’m finally warming up to. I’d describe my everyday style as pretty classic and conservative. I try mixing things up with accessories, handbags and jewelry. To me, those things can make or break an outfit.

Here are some trends that I’m loving:

Booties - these can be really cute worn with leggings/jeggings. I used to loathe these.

Leggings/Jeggings - The right pair makes all the difference. I'm still on the hunt for jeggings and will probably end up getting a pair from the Gap.

Leopard print (accessories) - I love the flats and the cute scarf (I have flats and an infinity scarf similar to both of these looks already). I think they're nice for the season.

Trends I cannot get into:

Over the Knee boots – simply because these would look ridiculous on me. I think they can be really cute on other people.

Plaid shirts – I’ve tried them on and they’re not for me.

Fall florals – floral prints are not my style. I’m so plain!

There are certain things that I don’t think will ever go out of style (at least I hope they don’t) because they’re wardrobe staples of mine:

Scarves
Bootcut jeans
Cardigans
Big sunglasses
Simple black heels

What are some new trends you're loving and what are some of your wardrobe staples?

Oh SNAP- those boots are hotness---do you know where those are from?

I agree with the plaid (Within reason) and florals. They're just eh to me.

Nut leggings, leopard print and booties? YES PLEASE!

I love the booties! And I love the IDEA of over the knee boots but I'd look ridiculous in them as well.

I hope cardigans never go out of style. I wear them all of the time!

I agree with you on the staples! I'm fence sitting about the booties & jeggings though.

I think I am going to try a pair of booties this year. And totally plan to get an animal print scarf or cardigan. I'm scared of jeggings.

I always love plaid myself! With skinny jeans!

Did you ever draw the winner for the bracelet? I am dying to know! :)

I agree about booties - I used to hate them and now I already have one pair this year!

And I love the leopard as well.

I agree about the plaid shirts - I just look like I'm trying to relive 90's grunge when I wear them.

I also do not see myself wearing any over-the-knee boots at this point (though I may change my mind later).

I love all of your wardrobe staples and I agree completely with your list. I am definitely more of a classic dresser as well.

Hope you're having a great week!

I can't get on the bootie bandwagon. I just don't like them. I haven't tried a pair on, but I feel like they would hit me in an odd place and make my legs look short. I don't know. Another trend I can't stand...ponchos. I thought the fashion world learned from their mistake a few years ago...but all of a suddent they're back. Yikes!

See I like plaid on me. I think the right type of shirt, and you would look super cute (but you usually do!)

ankle boots took me forever to warm up to, but am digging on them now. Jeggings...the Old Navy ones no like. I actually like the Avon ones, if you can believe it. much cuter than Old Navy or Gap.

I'm totally with you on the over the knee boots and the plaid - very cute on others, not on me. Loving the booties. I'm even loving leggings - though the right pair is absolutely key. I didn't think I'd ever come around to those, or skinny jeans. My staples are good jeans - flared, bootcut or skinny - scarves (love, love, love them), shawls or wraps, well-cut jackets, funky jewelry and high-heeled boots.

I would look terrible in over the knee boots! Plaid shirts look bad on me too.

I like leggings under dresses, but not as pants because I have a big butt and hips!

I have to admit, I'm afraid of the ankle bootie and the over-the-knee boot.

I definitely can not pull off the jeggings :( Love the boots, plaid, floral, and Leopard!

I just got a pair of booties! I am a little nervous about wearing them, but hopefully I will learn to love them!

I just can't get into booties, my calves are too big :( But I love me some leggings! My fav pair are from Macy's and were a bit pricey but have lasted for several years now. I also have leopard print flats, I should start wearing them more!

I am also a lover of cardigans, headbands, and argyle...so my co-workers call me a :square" lol! I wish I could wear fall clothes everday. With our 113 degree weather, I may not even need a coat at all this year :O

I'm trying to figure out how I missed this post!!! ??? Anyway, I love leopard too and like you, I'm not a big fan of the floral prints. Once in a blue moon I like one, but yeah...

I jusst can't get past the over the knee boots looking like stipper boots. I know, I know, but I can't! But then, there were years when I thought knee high ones looked the same, and now I love them and think they are classy! Trends get the best of me...I just take years I guess. :)
