VH1 Best Cruise Ever – Day 2

We started the morning off right with ordering room service to our cabin and then got ready for the day. We strolled around the ship and bumped into the lead singer, Chad from Carolina Liar (we saw him and the rest of the band a ton). He was super nice and we got a photo with him. We ended up going into the Candlelight Lounge for the VH1 Top 20 Countdown Panel. Jim Shearer and some of the producers were there doing a Q&A and giving a background on the show. It turns out that Jersey Shore was originally pitched to VH1 by the name of “Guido” and they passed for fear of losing sponsors. The original pilot was shot a few years back, which I never would have known.

Later we headed over to the Paris Lounge for a Q&A session with 3 Doors Down. Fans got to ask the band questions, which ended up being very fun and informative. After that, we headed up to the Lido deck to watch the Cannonball Contest out by the pool that Shinedown was hosting. A big guy from Wisconsin won and then the band did a giant cannonball into the pool once it was over with the winner.

We stayed out on the deck and saw 7daybinge with Cathy and Steve. After sun and a ton of music, we took a walk around the ship. We were up on the Promenade Deck and saw they had sushi. Jason Wade from Lifehouse (lead singer) was getting some too and we got to chat with him for a minute and I got a pic. He was really friendly, which made me happy, since I’ve been a fan forever. We headed back outside and caught the acoustic set from Carolina Liar and then we bumped into Jon (the lead singer) for 7daybinge. He was great too.

We headed back to the cabin, got ready for dinner and met up with Steve and Cathy. It was the night they were serving lobster tail and it was not very good at all. Dinner was a nice time though and we had some laughs. Afterwards, we went back up to the Promenade Deck and listened to Nic Cowan sing for awhile. We saw Amy and Chad there too and then Geof, me, Steve and Cathy headed up to the Lido Deck for the Shinedown show. We parked ourselves right by the pool and set up chairs. It was so relaxing and nice to sit under the stars out to sea listening to good music. I love Shinedown’s new single “The Crow & The Butterfly”.

After Shinedown, we headed back to the Candlelight Lounge and hung out for a bit with Jes and Amanda and then went to the Lido for a late night snack. Throughout the day, we also got to chat with Dave and Tate from SafetySuit and that is always nice. You never feel like you’re talking to guys in a band when you see them. They’re just down-to-earth and that is something you don’t see very often.

Sadly, we ended up not getting dressed for 80’s night. I’ll save my costume for Halloween or something like that. I would say about 20% of the cruisers dressed up. These were pretty cool.

Next up is our day in Grand Cayman and then our last day on the ship. I hope I’m not boring you to death. I wanted to recap this like I do with every trip, so that I can look back on it and remember the good times.

Def not boring at all. I love how this post off like the 2nd chapter of a book! You look so great in all of these pics, great outfits!

This cruise sounds so amazing. It keeps getting better and better haha! Crazy about Jersey Shore...

I loooove going to concerts, but sometime you get so tired. I think it's cool you relaxed for one of the shows. Sounds so relaxing to just lounge in the moonlight listening to live music.

It's even cooler that all of the bands were friendly and personable, makes you like their music even more!

Can't wait for the next installment =)
