Fun Tag & An Award!

The lovely Linda at Silly Little Mischief and Lacey at Confessions of a Southern Belle tagged me and I thought this would be fun.

THE RULES:

Make a list of things you can see without getting up: The TV, stack of papers for filing and the dogs.

What were you like when you were five? Very friendly and talkative. Here is a funny story. I grew up in the country until I was about 5 (my parents split) and then moved to the suburbs near the city. When I lived in the country friends were miles away, not a block away. My mom said that one day after the move I came into the house and asked her to meet my new friends in the backyard. She expected to see 2 or 3 children. She said that I had about 10-15 out there. I was so overwhelmed and happy to have friends close by to have fun with.

What are you wearing now? Black sweatpants, blue sweatshirt and slippers. Typical bumming around the house clothes.

What is one thing people don’t know about you that you would like to share? I was a figure skater as a teenager and started teaching on the side when I was about 18. I still teach with my mom to this day. I enjoy it so much and love watching the children learn and develop their skating skills.

What’s the last thing you read/are currently reading? Still trying to finish Breaking Dawn!

Do you nap a lot? I wish I had the time to. Whenever I do take a nap, I can never sleep that night.

Who was the last person you hugged? Geof

What’s your current fandom/obsession/addiction? The Bachelor

What was the last thing you ate today? Chili

What was the last thing you said aloud? That commercial is funny (Superbowl)

What websites do you always visit when you go online? Blogger, Facebook, Yahoo

What was the last thing you bought? Shoes

What are you listening to right now? The Superbowl

What movie are (or were!) you most excited to show your kids? I’m excited for my future children to see the classic Disney movies and Grease.

If you could have any super power, what would it be? Reading minds.

What is your favorite weather, and why? Sunny, fall day with no humidity around 70 degrees.

What time do you usually get up? I get up around 8:00am

What is your most challenging goal right now? Paying off debt from the wedding.

Say something to the person who tagged you: Linda, I love your blog. You always have something new and unique posted and it is fun hearing about your life with Tai!

If you could have a house–totally paid for, fully furnished–anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be? Hmmm…the Greek islands maybe. I actually like the area I live in now and wouldn’t mind having a bigger house around here.

Favorite vacation spot? Mexico and the Cayman Islands. I would love to see many more places.

What is your favorite children’s book? The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

Name one thing you just can’t resist no matter how bad it is for you: The 2 C’s. Cheese and chocolate.

If you could meet anyone famous - dead or alive - who would it be? Prince. I know there are many more important and influential people. I just love Prince.

What is your favorite restaurant? Jones

Step 1: respond and rework—answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.

Step 2: tag—eight other un-tagged people will be tagged.

I now tag anyone that would like to fill this out!

I also received the Honest Scrap award from the lovely and Polka Dots & Protein Bars. Her blog is so fun and you must run right over and check it out!

With this award, I'm supposed to list 10 honest things about myself. So, here goes....

1. I am not a morning person. I hate getting up in the morning and am much more of a night owl.

2. I’ve lived in the same state my entire life. I’m not a big fan of change, so if I am happy and content in one place I see no reason to leave.

3. I am terrified of snakes. They freak me out and I refer to them as serpents.

4. I’m an only child and wish I had a sibling. Growing up it didn’t bother me but now that I’m an adult, I wish I had a brother or a sister.

5. I am addicted to diet soda. I love it all.

6. My grandmother was taken away from me and my family when I was a teen by a drunk driver and it was the saddest time in my entire life. I still think about her everyday.

7. Throughout life I’ve been told how sweet and nice I am. My teachers even put this on report cards in elementary school and at work as an adult I’m told that I’m well liked and have a good attitude. This is definitely not a bad thing, but sometimes I wish I didn’t come across as so nice because I think some people can take advantage of that.

8. I have never been to Europe or off this continent for that matter and would love to travel abroad one day.

9. Geof and I originally met on the internet. I never thought I would meet my future husband that way.

10. I hate Styrofoam. I hate the texture, the feel…everything! It makes me cringe.

The award has two components. You have to first list 10 honest things about yourself (and make them interesting), and second present the award to seven other bloggers.

I now give this award to the following lovely ladies:

1. Lis @ Lis Loves
2. Tasha @ Biology Gal
3. Classy in Philadelphia
4. Lindsey @ Learning To Be A Wife
5. Emily @ Life As I Know It From Memphis
6. Jill @ Jaded Jill Speaks
7. Meg @ Believe In Me<3G

Thanks so much for the award and your kind words.

I know that I am doing the right thing for myself. I'm glad that you and your dad were able to patch things up before your wedding though! Did he walk you down the aisle?

I also met my husband on the internet, and I'm totally not a morning person either.
